CENTRE COUNTY SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION & RECYCLING FACILITY

The growth of the Centre Region resulted in the need to expand the existing waste and recycling transfer facility. The program for the renovation and expansion included relocated and renovated administrative office space, new interpretive educational center, new maintenance building, expanded recycling process/storage area, and a new scale house complex. The site work includes new scale house entry drive and an expanded tipping/sorting area for recyclable materials as well as well as an upgraded circulation and utility infrastructure to support the development. As completed, this $6.5 million project serves not only the day to day needs of the county, but also focuses on the educational opportunity to inform people of our impact on the environment and continued need for recycyling.
